Comprehensive 5-phase YOUTH Empowerment Program

The CHALLENGES

The challenges and issues that face our youth in schools, colleges, universities, and communities are numerous and are only becoming worse. Many voices are speaking to our youth right now. They frequently have trouble figuring out which voices are the best to pay attention to and emulate. Our young people are LIMITED in several aspects of their lives due to the lack of appropriate life skills.

The effects of crime, violence, negative peer pressure, bullying, alcohol and drug misuse, sexual promiscuity and rape, abortion, despair, suicide, and many other associated concerns are a constant source of struggle and pain for our young people, their families, and communities.

These problems frequently stem from a lack of love and acceptance, incorrect information, and the need to [fit in]. Our youth lack critical LIFE-SKILLS, which will EMPOWER them to make WISE choices and help them successfully OVERCOME ALL the obstacles and hardships they face daily, as well as those of their families. Additionally, life skills will enable our youth to follow their dreams and contribute positively to the well-being of our community.

We empower and support Schools, Colleges and other Youth Institutions in confronting, resolving, and averting problems that affect our communities, schools, colleges, and universities daily.

Rather than waiting for a catastrophe to strike before taking action to mitigate the harm, we need to be far more PRO-ACTIVE in preventing potential harm and loss.

Life-Skills Book

A thorough 210-page life-skills book that tackles all the prevalent issues, struggles, and disappointments that young people encounter on a daily basis are available for printing and distribution.

Any Educational Institution that permits us to deliver this life-skills program to their learners through a Empowerment and Development Program will witness significant and lasting transformation in their school and surroundings.

See below an extract of 8 Pages from the Life-Skills Book, including the Index, Helplines and Introduction...

The following common addictions, dependencies and problems exist:

S-M-A-R-T Youth has several options to address the multiple complex issues that confront our Youth daily

Comprehensive Program for Empowerment and Development

No matter their history, culture, colour, gender, or religious orientation, ALL youth starting at the age of twelve (12) are welcome to participate in our suggested activities and services, which are NOT offered from a religious standpoint. Both Afrikaans and English are available for presentation of our services and programs. Every day, we will address all the fundamental issues that affect our youth.

Our Program consists of five (5) phases.

WHY this Program? Is it truly required?

"I, Pierre, have witnessed a great deal of rejection, hurt, pain, lovelessness, disappointment, brokenness, anger, resentment, unforgiveness, depression, hopelessness, and confusion in the lives of young people (as well as their families) since I began working with youth in 1999."

Because they bought into the LIE that "nobody cares," I have witnessed a great deal of young people put in juvenile jail, some of them killed, and many more have their lives ruined.

Your Creator CARES, we CARE, and so do a lot of other individuals in the community, family, and friends! We have heeded the call to action regarding the numerous difficulties, obstacles, and tribulations that face our youth daily, because we CARE. We recognize that they deal with a variety of problems, some of which they are ill-equipped to handle.

Our mission is to SERVE and HELP our youth!

Our purpose is to LOVE and ACCEPT them!

We genuinely care about them, which is why we have developed our programs!

Our purpose is NOT to evaluate, disapprove, or denounce our young people.

Our purpose is to support and guide them in becoming everything that they were meant to be.

LIFE SKILLS EMPOWERMENT Program

Phase 1:

Life-Skills Development

With one of the most extensive Life-Skills Programs for Youth, S-M-A-R-T Youth seeks to strengthen youth institutions, including schools and colleges.

Our program is supported by over 25 years of expertise working with youth from diverse backgrounds. We are committed to loving and serving our priceless children, enabling them to make positive changes in their lives and surroundings and guiding them toward lives with purpose and meaning.

Why is S-M-A-R-T Youth, making WISE choices the title of our life skills program?

We know many of our youth suffer from depression, oppression, abuse, neglect, and even physical limitations because of the daily struggles they face. To empower our youth to embrace wholeness, joy, freedom, peace, and individuality and to live a balanced life with purpose and destiny, we have been called to ASSIST them in breaking the chains of oppression that bind them in many aspects of their lives.

The lives of our youth matter; they are important!

As previously stated, our life-skills curriculum is available to ALL Youth from the age of twelve (12) and will not be offered from a religious perspective. Every day, our precious youth face a number of core issues that we will address, such as peer pressure, rejection, neglect, acceptance, love, racism, anger, rebellion, loneliness, dating and rape, abuse in all its forms, smoking, alcohol abuse, substance abuse, drug abuse, sex, including STDs, STIs, and HIV/AIDS, pregnancy and abortion, music and its effects, sports, depression, suicide, making informed decisions, pursuing their purpose, maintaining their dream, and achieving their destiny.

Our 210-page full-colour, quality Life-Skills Book

Our program is fact-based and thoroughly researched; it is not biased. We'll have interactive information sessions with visual aids.

Our mission is to locate, appoint, and train Life-Coaches in South African Schools, Colleges and Youth Organizations.

Over the course of two (2) terms, these Life-Coaches will deliver our life-skills program, ideally during LO or alternative slots as per the Institution's requirements, even after normal school hours.

We will have stringent requirements and a selection process for all Life-Coaches.

Life-Coaches will be vetted, overseen, and receive ongoing mentoring.

The following will be our requirements for potential Life-Coaches:

  • Comprehensive assessments
  • Without exception, life coaches must lead morally upright lives
  • Life coaches need to be emotionally and psychologically stable
  • No dependence on drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or any other substance (addiction)
  • No promiscuity in the sexual sense—NO sex before marriage
  • No criminal history
  • A citizen of South Africa holding a valid Grade 12 certificate
  • A current valid driver's licence

To ensure efficient service delivery and project sustainability, Life-Coaches will be observed and guided continually.

It is Non-negotiable to have integrity, respect, patience, and compassion.

Life-Coaches will commence with a minimum stipend of R5,000 per month, dependent on experience and qualification(s). This will cover their transport and communication costs.

As a community-driven initiative, we will rely on donations, pledges and sponsorships to fund the recruitment, training, and mentoring of Life-Coaches.

For additional information on how to sponsor a life coach or a school, college, or institution, please see further information further down the page.

Phase 2:

Mentorship Program

80–85% of youth are influenced by 15-20% of youth

Selected leaders from each grade of a School, College, or Youth Organization will be the focus, working in conjunction with the relevant School or Schools. Through this program, we hope to train, equip and teach chosen leaders to POSITIVELY IMPACT all other learners within their peer groups, resulting in a total transformation of the School or College's atmosphere and value system, which will also POSITIVELY impact the larger community.

Phase 3:

Groups will include:
